I shopped at grocery store and I saw an 8 oz of coke contains with vitamins. Geez. They want to make more business and rake money. At the other, most adolescent and adults missed important vitamins. I am concerned with load of sugar and even Splenda.

Because they sell. And they are what the market wants. And they can’t think of any other line extensions.

Primarily because of the health food craze and some schools not allowing “junk” foods on the high school campuses. Adding vitamins and herbs gives the impression that the beverage companies care about the health of their customers.

get vitamins through eating fresh vegetables, salads and fruits..any commercial cold drink is certainly not a good source of vitamins ans natural nutritients,herbals..

to make it seem “healthier” even though they don’t lessen the loads of sugar in them… that way people who love coke can still buy because they can use the added herbs and vitamins as an excuse…
i don’t like sodas, by the way…

Softdrink manufacturers are trying to differentiate their products from others and create more choices for consumers. Not all their creations become hits or are necessarily appropriate for healthy diets.
What you saw was the new Diet Coke Plus fortified with with vitamins B-6 and B-12, magnesium, zinc and niacin which was just launched on April 23, 2007. Apparently it is getting a lot of attention – several questions have been asked on Y!A already.
This is not Coca-Cola’s only attempt with vitamin-enriched beverages – there are also vitamin-fortified Dasani Plus and H2Odwalla fruit-flavored vitamin waters from the Coca-Cola Company.
Coca-Cola Consolidated also test marketed a new soda packed with vitamins and minerals called Defense in 2006. The drink aimed to be a defense against cold and flus. It was available in lemon-lime and orange flavors and were available in drugstores and grocery stores in Charlotte.
