moontan asked:

I have heard that Grapefruit pectin can help with the prevention of clog and help unclog heart arteries as well as exercise, less fat and cholestrol . But do you know of any foods, drinks, vitamins that can also help unclog the arteries?

Tomatoes and garlic are supposed to be good for circulation. A glass of Red Wine a day is good for circulation too, helps thin the blood slightly.

With regard to actually unclogging, medical precedure is the only way to do it, once it is stuck to the artery walls, its pretty much there to stay.

When people are told they have High Cholesterol, they are advised to up their intake of plant sterols, which can be found in soft fruits like tomatoes, plums etc. While they wont unblock your artieries, they will aid in reducing the amount of “gunge” being laid down as a result of eating hight saturated fat diets.

There are three things I personally know of that seem pretty effective in keeping my circulatory system flowing freely.

    Aspirin
    Fresh garlic
    Apple Cider Vinegar

I think papaya helps keep cholestrol down and you can eat it as a fruit and in pill form.

    Be careful here.

Let the professionals answer this one in other words, discuss it with your doctor.

So many companies make claims that their products do this that and the other, but be wary!

The slime in okra will clean out arteries. Eat as much of it as you can. Raisin bran also worked for me.

Pineapple contains bromelin which is prescribed to those suffering from stroke. Bromelin is obtained directly from pineapples. A glass of pineapple juice instead of orange juice at breakfast is a very good preventative habit.
